Pares Balta, Blancs de Pacs 2018
Macabeo, Parellada, Xarel-lo.
The roots of Pares Balta goes all the way back to the 18th century. Mr Joan Cusine Hill took over the winery in 1978, who comes from a family of vine growers. At 80 years old he even helped his grandsons to care for a part of the vineyard. His son Joan Cusine Cusine started to manage Pares Balta in the eighties and released its first still white wine, “Blanc de Pacs” which is still produced today. Since 2000 the management has been in the hands of the two grandsons of the previous winemaker, Joan and Josep Cusine Carol, and their wives, Maria Elena Jimenez and Marta Casas are the winemakers and oenologists.
The three grapes known for sparkling cava are fermented separately and aged without oak. Xarel·lo gives the body, Macabeu the fruit and Parellada the delicate freshness and the floral notes it can obtain in the highest mountains in the Penedès. Yellow lemon color with light green tints. It’s fresh with a good acidity. Resulting in a soft wine, leaving an intense sensation of fruits and freshness on the finish. Biodynamic.
