Azienda Agricola Rapillo Vino Rosso
Sangiovese & Montepulciano
Enzo and Antonella Rapillo have about 3 hectares of limestone soil vines that produce about 8,000 bottles of wine. The vines are not treated with chemical agents, and the winemaking and farming follow traditions that respect the land. This wine is unfined, unfiltered, and minimally dosed with SO2. It’s micro oxidized, giving it a tingly quality on the tongue. Notes of earth and dry with cherry are complemented by a nice acidity that works well with food. This wine makes me want to put it on the back of a Vespa to take and drink in the piazza. It’s fun and clearly Italian.
