Château De Gaudou, Puro, Malbec 2018
$16.99
Cahors, France
This ancient, 17th century château has vines between 30 and 120 years old, planted on southeast-facing gravel slopes for maximum exposure. No chemicals are used in the field, grapes are hand-harvested, native yeast fermented in stainless and cement tanks, then bottled unfined and slightly filtered with a drop of SO2 for stability. Winemaker Fabrice Durou knows how to subdue Malbec’s legendary tannins - the result is a very “Cahors” wine with beautiful fruit balanced by acidity and long length.
