Tegernseerhof, T26 Federspiel, Gruner Veltiner2018
Wachau, Niederösterreich, Austria
Pale gold in color with aromas of citrus and pear, a dry palate with minerality and notes of yellow apples, and white pepper. The finish is long and refreshing. This wine is great with salty cheeses.
This wine is made by Martin Mittelbach. His family has been making wine in Wachau since 1176. The grapes come from the winery's sandy flatlands, which drives the 50-year-old vines to reach their roots deep into the soil. T26 refers to the fermenter that the first release of the wine came from. Federspiel is a level of potential alcohol used in the Wachau, to signify dry wine with an alcohol percentage between 11.5 and 12.5.
